Adoption Policy

SHELTER HOURS
Monday - Friday: 8am to 4:30pm
We are open for meet and greet adoptions by appointment only Monday through Friday. Please contact us by phone at 913-321-1445 or by email at petadoptions@kckpd.org to schedule your appointment.
Weekend Shelter Adoptions:
Saturday: 12pm to 3pm
Our weekend hours vary depending on the satellite adoption events going on that weekend. Please contact the shelter or visit our Facebook page for our shelter and satellite event hours for the upcoming weekend. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions.

Our dogs will be with Heart of America Humane Society volunteers.
CAT ADOPTIONS AT PETSMART
We have some cats available for adoption at the adoption center inside the Merriam PetSmart. You may visit those cats any day during PetSmart business hours:

PET ADOPTION INFORMATION
All of our dogs and cats available for adoption have already been spayed or neutered, vaccinated and dewormed. Cats are tested for FIV and Feline Leukemia. Dogs are microchipped. Dogs 7 months and older are tested for heartworms.
If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match.
