PAWS of Adams County
Our Mission
PAWS stands for Pets Are Worth Saving. Our main goals for this group are to provide quality care and shelter for as many homeless animals as resources permit. P.A.W.S. endeavors to provide each animal with loving care, including vaccinations and spay/ neuter. Our main focus is cats and dogs. We hope to help larger animals in the future. We hope to enhance the quality of life by fostering sentiments of kindness and compassion that result from pet ownership. We strive to educate the public about the plight of homeless animals and encourage responsible pet ownership. Another goal is to secure a permanent, quality home for every animal in our care. We do a thorough backround check on all families who are interested in adopting any pets and make sure they are spay/ neutered. Only responsible pet owners are encouraged to consider adopting a pet.
Adoption Policy
You can find an adoption application on our website or a link below. You must have a good scoring with your veterinarian to adopt. Make sure all of your references know as well as your veterinarian that we will be calling.
AN APPLICATION MUST BE FILLED OUT BEFORE A MEET AND GREET!
Without a doubt, when you adopt a rescue dog, puppy, cat or kitten will put an instant smile on your face and you gain a wonderful companion! Once you fill out an application one of our application specialists will contact you as soon as possible.
All of our dogs and puppies will be updated on their normal vetting including vaccines, microchipped, spayed/neutered, and heartworm tested, as well as on a heartworm preventative, before adoption. They all live in foster homes and have been socialized with work on crate training, potty training and trust (if needed).
