Eye on the Sparrow
Our Mission
Eye on the Sparrow has merged with our sister organization, Helping out Pets Everywhere(H.O.P.E.). We are the same group of dedicated rescuers and look forward to our coninuting devotion to those dogs and cats that may otherwise not be rescued, HOPE for the hopeless.
We are an all volunteer all breed rescue group with fosters in LaSalle, Cook, Kane, Kendall and Will Counties. We are dedicated to all the dogs left behind; the blind, the elderly, the physically challenged, and those that have otherwise been passed over for adoption.  We pledge to rescue as many as possible and unite them with loving families. Our dogs come from local shelters, Chicago Anti-Cruelty, Southern Illinois,  basically anywhere there is a dog in need. Many of our rescues come from community referrals, through individuals, and vets.  This includes "The Invisible Dogs ", dogs that are  healthy and easily treatable but are routinely euthanized in over crowded  shelters.  S
Adoption Policy
We try to make adopting a dog or cat a pleasant and fairly easy experience but also try to make the best possible fit for each dog or cat and the people involved. After being contacted by an individual we will respond with an email and attach an application as well. We will follow up with any questions or concerns and will do a phone consult as well. Remember all or our dogs are at volunteer foster homes and we do our best to get back to any inquiries as soon as is possible. Adoption fees help defer many of expenses such as medical care or other costs incurred by the dogs and are usually around $250, although some of the dogs can be adopted for less due to sponsors, special needs and senior programs, and some of the more "sought" after breeds and puppies generally have a higher adoption fee to help (pays for the extra surgeries, meds..so we can take special needs dogs).   Â
