Chicagoland Dog Rescue
Our Mission
Chicagoland Dog Rescue (CDR) brought a few people together who had been doing rescue work on their own. Our common goal is to rescue dogs that suffer at the hands of cruel or ignorant owners, owner give-aways, or those that are homeless. We are a small group of volunteers who work full time jobs and try to help as many dogs as we can, when we can.Â
Chicagoland Dog Rescue is a shelter-less rescue. Â Most of our dogs are in foster homes, but we do board some dogs we take in at local shelters and vets. It is our dream to have a shelter where uninterrupted socialization will be the norm and we will be able to place as many dogs as possible in safe, loving homes. Â In the meantime, we help as many dogs as we can, keeping them from being brought to various societies or kill shelters where 15,000 dogs
Adoption Policy
First step is to decide if you are ready for a long term commitment owning a dog. Â Â Ask yourself if you are ready for vet bills, cost of food, training the dog, and what would happen to him/her if you became ill.
Once you have decided you are ready for the commitment, the next step is to come to an adoption show and meet the dog you are interested in. Sometimes people fall in love with a picture, only to find another dog at the show better suits what they are looking for. Â Â
Please remember to bring all family members, including dog(s), who live at the home to meet the new dog. Â We do not adopt out dogs as gifts. Â
