The Barn on Baseline Animal Shelter/Adoption Center was started in 1974 to meet the needs of stray and abandoned dogs and cats in DeKalb County. There are still footprints in the concrete floor of the shelter from the first dog sheltered there (a bit before we were quite ready). We have a very open policy for visiting our shelter. Come out any time.
Adoption Policy
Come in to meet your new best friend. We believe every pet reacts differently to every person. So come decide for yourself if one of our homeless pets meets your needs, and you theirs.
We are open 7 days a week from 8:30 until noon and Monday - Friday we reopen in the afternoon from 1:30 to 4:30.
