Benld Adopt-A-Pet
Our Mission
To be “A voice for those who cannot speak for
themselves”.
To operate a “no-kill” shelter for homeless animals
and raise funds to operate that shelter.
To rescue animals whenever and wherever we can,
and provide food, medical care and a safe,
comfortable home for them while at the shelter.
To treat all animals with love and compassion
while at the shelter.
To place animals in good, permanent homes
whenever possible.
To ensure that every animal is spayed/neutered
before being adopted to help solve the problem of
animal overpopulation.
To educate the public on humane care and other
issues concerning animals, and speak out to
eradicate cruelty to animals whenever it is in our
power to do so.
Adoption Policy
To adopt you must live within 100 miles of one of our adoption sites (Benld, O’Fallon or Springfield IL), and be at least 18 years of age. We require that you be physically present to make the final adoption arrangements. We also require that all cats be kept indoors, and that all dogs be kept or live indoors, with a secure fenced-in yard or pen for when they are outside, unless otherwise discussed and mutually agreed upon ahead of time. Failure to comply with any of these requirements may constitute sufficient grounds for our reclaiming the adopted animal.
In order to adopt, you must first complete an Adoption Inquiry, and upon approval, an Adoption Agreement.
