Hamilton County Animal Advocates
Our Mission
To help cats, their caregivers, and communities in Hamilton County, Iowa through three programs:
• Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) of community and barn cats.
• CatSNAP (Cat Spay/Neuter Assistance Program) for qualifying low-income residents of Hamilton County.
• Adoption of cats and kittens into loving homes with priority given to kittens rescued through TNR programs.
Hamilton County Animal Advocates and THE CAT HUT are incorporated in the State of Iowa, licensed with the Iowa Department of Agriculture and maintain 501(c)(3) non-profit charity status with the IRS.

Adoption fees:
$50 for a cat over a year old
$100 for a kitten under a year old
There is no fee to adopt feral/semi-feral barn/shop cats. Email hello@hamcats.org to find out more about our barn cat program.
Donations in any amount are GREATLY appreciated to help care for the next cat or kitten entering our program. Â Costs per cat are typically $150 or more and every dollar helps!
Prior to adoption, cats and kittens are spayed or neutered and receive a microchip, age appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment, and dewormer. Friendly, indoor cats and kittens are also tested for FELV and FIV.
