Our Mission
100+ Abandoned Dogs of Everglades Florida:
Rescuing, Reviving & Rehoming -----The Lost & Forgotten Ones
Our Mission is to rescue dogs that have been abandoned in the Everglades and the surrounding areas of rural SW Miami-Dade as well as local kill shelters. We heal them and show them that not all humans are bad and that love and a warm bed are just around the corner. Over 5,000 dogs and 100’s of cats have been rescued by our group in the Everglades area (Florida City, Homestead and the Redlands) and throughout SE Florida.
We also work to raise awareness about this brutal reality happening right in our community, with the hope that our message will result in more responsible and humane decisions by dog owners.
Adoption Policy
Step 1: Complete the Adoption Application
Download the PDF of our Adoption Application from our website.
An adoption is not considered without a completed application. This lets us know if you, your family and household are the best fit for the rescue. Please email your completed application to 100PlusAbandonedDogs@gmail.com
Step 2: Meet and Greet
If your application is approved and you currently have animals living in your home and/or you have animals who visit your home often, we will need to schedule a proper meet and greet with all. All meets and greets are by appointment only!
Step 3: Home Check
We will come to your home and conduct a thorough home check. This is a very important part of the adoption process.
Step 4: Adoption Decision
The rescue will decide if all parties are a perfect fit for each other. If you have passed, we will be in contact and we can begin finalizing the adoption.
Step 5: Finalizing the adoption
The minimum adoption donation is a non-refundable $300. You will receive a copy of all medical records and the microchip will then be transferred into your name. This process can take up to two weeks.
PLEASE NOTE: The animal you are interested will most likely have more than one application. Our decision is not based on the order the applications are received, they are based on what is best for the animal. Their needs and requirements always come first. Also, while passing of the initial screening process, the animal you are interested in may have already found their forever loving home.
While we do work with out-of-state adopters, we do not allow our dogs to be ‘shipped’ via third-party transport or to fly in the cargo area of an airplane. We realize not everyone agrees with this policy, but we feel strongly that these dogs have been traumatized enough and must be handled with care until they can rebuild trust in humans again. Thank you for understanding.
