4 Paws Pet Rescue
Our Mission
4 Paws Pet Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)3 dog rescue that has been rescuing animals since 1999. We are a small group of volunteers who rescue and rehabilitate homeless dogs and place them into new homes. It is our goal to make a good match between adopter and dog.
Adoption Policy
ADOPTION GUIDELINES:
We are looking for loving, permanent, forever homes for our dogs. Please make sure you are seriously committed before applying to adopt a dog from us. If you are interested in a dog on our site, please first check to see that it is a 4 Paws dog and then email us at fourpawspets08@yahoo.com for an application. You may contact us any time by email to ask questions about a dog's personality. Please read bio before doing so as there is information listed there as to the general age, size, temperament, and adoption fees. We are not able to contact you until we receive an application.
Once we receive your completed application (applications that are not completely filled in will not be accepted), if approved (or we just need more information) we will contact you by phone or email to discuss your application, if not approved we will send you an email. There may be more than one application approved on a single dog.
If the dog sounds like a good match for your family we will set up a time for the whole family (including your current dog) to meet the dog, usually in Vacaville. Everyone living in the home must meet the dog.
The next step is then a home inspection at your home. For this reason we usually only adopt to homes within a 50 mile radius of Vacaville. Due to Covid we are adopting further & offering virtual home inspections. Email us if you are further than that radius. We don't usually offer out of state adoptions!
Once you pass with flying colors we then set up a time to do the adoption, usually in Vacaville. We will complete this process as quickly as possible, please note that we are all volunteers and do have regular jobs and family obligations. 4 Paws charges an adoption fee for each dog that helps to cover spay/neuter surgery, shots and other medical care given before the dog is made available for adoption. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and have their current vaccinations.
