Adoption Policy
Our Thorough Adoption Process ?
At The Fuzzy Pet Foundation (TFPF), we take the responsibility of finding the best homes for our animals very seriously. Our adoption process is designed to ensure the safety and well-being of every cat and dog. Here are the steps involved:
(1) Application: Each prospective adopter must fill out a detailed application.
(2) Reference Check: We contact provided references to learn more about the adopter's experience and suitability.
(3) Phone Call: We have a conversation to discuss expectations and answer any questions.
(4) Home Visit: A home visit is conducted to ensure a safe environment for the pet.
(5) Adoption Contract and Fee: Once approved, an adoption contract is signed to finalize the process, and the adoption fee will be collected.
? A Few Important Reminders ?
?? Respect and Kindness: We are a group of working professionals running TFPF as a volunteer-driven organization. We pour our hearts and souls into caring for these animals. Please be respectful and kind in your communications with us.
?? Patience: Our animals are in individual foster homes. Please do not demand to see them immediately or on the same day. We need time to thoroughly screen each application. Remember, we do not adopt out on a first-come, first-served basis.
?? Adoption Fees: These fees help cover a fraction of the expenses for vet care, housing, and supplies. Our adoption fee is generally 1/10 of what we incur. Please do not negotiate these fees as though you're bargaining for a bag of fruit. If you cannot afford the basic adoption fee, we advise against adopting, as vet bills and pet care expenses are significant everywhere.
?? Living Beings: Our animals are living, sentient beings. We ask for your understanding and patience as we work to find them the most loving and responsible homes.
? Zero Tolerance Policy: We will not tolerate rude, disrespectful, or entitled behavior, including "nasty grams" or aggressive emails.
Thank you for your understanding and support. Together, we can find these wonderful animals the loving homes they deserve!
