Boomer's Buddies Rescue
Our Mission
We are a non-profit all-volunteer-based 501(c)(3) rescue located in Los Angeles, CA. We are a dog and cat rescue that is committed to taking on difficult cases such as abuse, severe medical, trauma, and animals needing hospice care.
We were founded in 2017 after many visits to the shelters left us hopeless for the dogs and cats that needed rescuing the most. Although the shelters do an amazing job at helping the animals that come through, the high volume of intake leaves them with no choice but to constantly make room for the influx.
We commit our resources and time to find homes for animals that are truly vulnerable and otherwise may not get their second chance at a fur-ever life.
Adoption Policy
-You must be at least 21 years old to adopt.
-You must live in Los Angeles or within a 4-hour driving distance. We do not ship animals.
-In order to ensure the safety of our animals, you must be comfortable with conducting a virtual home-check (over FaceTime or Skype) or in-person home-check in which every member of your household must be present.
-Most of our cats need to be adopted either in pairs or to homes that have other friendly cats/dogs (unless it is noted in the animal's profile). This is to ensure the cat has a lifelong companion when the human is not around and can prevent future behavioral issues that arise out of boredom/frustration.
- Our adoption fee is $200 for a cat and $250 for a dog. If you are adopting two kittens as a pair, it is $175 each ($350 total). This includes at least one round of vaccines, microchipping, de-worming, tested for FeLV/FIV (for cats) spay/neuter, and a round of flea meds administered.
-Our adoption fee does not cover the average cost of our rescues. We always provide any necessary medical care for the animals we take in, such as surgery for injuries or congenital problems, x-rays, blood panels, fecal tests, and treatment for upper respiratory infections and viruses. Donations above and beyond the adoption fee are greatly appreciated and help us continue to rescue animals most in need.
Please note that due to the high volume of inquiries, you may not receive a response to your application.
