Adoption Policy
Adopting an animal is a serious decision requiring a life-long commitment to care for a creature that is completely dependent upon you. Pets need more than just food, water and shelter. They also need love, attention, exercise, training, grooming, and of course, dogs need a license.
All persons interested in adopting from Juneau Animal Rescue must complete an adoption application as the first step in the application process. We will be happy to go over the process with you.
Once the application is approved, you must sign a legally binding adoption contract. Read the contract carefully. By signing it, you are agreeing to abide by all local and state laws regarding annual vaccinations, animal control and licensing. It is also an agreement that you agree to take proper care of the animal, to provide for all its needs, and to return the animal to us if you find that you can no longer care for it.
