Robin Hood Rescue
Our Mission
Our mission is to rescue cats before they're abandoned outside by giving cat guardians the option to surrender the cats they can't care for, and to educate adopters on how to safely and adequately care for cats during adoption process.
Most rescues in this area don't accept surrenders, and even the SPCA becomes full as well, leaving struggling cat guardians with no choice but to put their cats outside, or give them away to the first person who shows up. This leads to cycles of neglect and abandonment for the cats. Rescues usually can't accept surrenders because most of them take cats off the street, and those cats incur very high vet costs and longer foster periods from higher numbers of illnesses and injuries. Our rescue can accept higher numbers of cats than most rescues with our current surrender-only policy, with simpler vet work and less traumatized cats to deal with on average. This is one way to contribute as a citizen to animal welfare, and help the Montreal homeless cat problem - rescuing them before they become homeless.
