Projet CSRM
Our Mission
About Projet CSRM
Projet CSRM is dedicated to improving the lives of homeless cats in the Montreal community through a comprehensive Trap-Neuter-Release-Maintain (TNRM) program. Our group is comprised of volunteer trappers and is closely associated with numerous local cat rescue organizations that focus on addressing the overpopulation of homeless cats on the island of Montreal.
Our Mission
Our mission is to help feral cat colonies live better lives through outreach, education, and extensive volunteer efforts. We trap, sterilize, and return feral cats to their colonies, ensuring they are no longer able to reproduce. This humane method helps to control the population and improve the quality of life for these cats.
Community Involvement
Community involvement is crucial to our efforts. We believe that with proper maintenance by willing neighborhood individuals, feral cats can lead healthier lives. Projet CSRM offers guidance and resources to the citizens of Montreal to support them in:
Feeding feral cats.
Providing cat houses for shelter.
Overseeing the general condition of the cats.
By educating and empowering the community, we ensure that feral cats receive the care and attention they need, especially during harsh weather conditions.
Rescue and Adoption
In addition to our TNRM efforts, we aim to rescue as many friendly, adoptable, young, elderly, and/or sick cats from the streets as possible. Our goal is to find these cats loving, forever homes through responsible adoption practices. By offering these cats a chance at a better life, we reduce the number of homeless cats and promote the well-being of our feline friends.
Join Us
Join us in our mission to make a difference in the lives of homeless cats. Whether through volunteering, adopting, or simply spreading the word, your support is invaluable to Projet CSRM. Together, we can create a better future for the feral cats of Montreal.
Adoption Policy
Our various partners use an adoption process that involves an application form, a telephone or zoom interview, as well as a visit with the cat or kittens up for adoption. Additionally, there may also be a home visit.
A reasonable adoption fee applies to cover the costs of sterilization, microchipping, vaccination as well as deworming and flea treatments. Adoptions fees are set individually and may vary.
Receiving or filling out an application form does not place the receiver or Projet CSRM under any obligation. All the information is completely confidential. When applying, please make sure to answer all the questions, otherwise your request might not be considered.
Policies are based on a search to find the best possible permanent home for the cats in our care and we are looking for serious adopters who understand that adopting a cat is a commitment that should last for the entire lifetime of the animal which could go over 15 years.
Providing sufficient care and ensuring the wellbeing of the animal requires a regular financial commitment that should not be neglected. This budget should take into account expenditures such as quality food, liter and annual veterinary checkups (vaccines and parasite control). There could also be unexpected or emergency care such as treatments of certain ailments, injuries or surgical procedures, the cost of which can quickly rise.
By completing our forms, you certify that you understand that taking in a cat is not a decision to take lightly. The adoption of a cat requires some serious thinking about your capacity, your financial means and a family consensus to properly take care and cater to the health and wellbeing of the animal.
