Our Mission

HSGN’s mission is to protect and care for animals in need, promote responsible pet ownership, and strengthen the bond between people and animals through adoption, education, and community support. We are dedicated to providing compassionate shelter, medical care, and rehabilitation for homeless, abused, and neglected animals while working to find them loving, permanent homes. Through public education and outreach, we strive to prevent pet overpopulation, encourage responsible pet care, and advocate for animal welfare. Our organization is committed to serving the community by offering accessible veterinary services, humane education, and resources that help keep pets and families together.

Adoption Policy

HSGN’s adoption process is designed to ensure the best match between pets and adopters while prioritizing the well-being of the animals in our care. Potential adopters begin by browsing available pets on our website or visiting the shelter. They then complete an adoption application, which helps us understand their lifestyle, experience, and what they’re looking for in a pet. Once an application is submitted, our team reviews it and may follow up with additional questions or schedule a meet-and-greet. For dogs, this may include a meet-and-greet with existing pets in the home. If the match is a good fit, adopters finalize the process by signing an adoption agreement and paying the adoption fee, which helps cover the pet’s veterinary care. All pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and receive any necessary medical treatment before adoption. Our team provides adopters with guidance, resources, and ongoing support to help ensure a smooth transition into their new home.
