Mississauga Humane Society
Our Mission
The Mississauga Humane Society is 100% volunteer-run, relying strictly on donations with no support from city/government/SPCA; a registered non-profit charity corporation dedicated to rescuing and finding homes for cats and dogs. We provide a safe caring environment for our pets while we work diligently to find them wonderful homes with caring families. The Mississauga Humane Society is unique in that we operate without the use of shelter facilities. All of our pets are cared for by foster families during their time with us. We rescue without bias, we take in all pets in need of help regardless of age or health conditions. We are always looking for support whether it be your time, donations of toys, leashes, kennels, blankets or cash donations. Learn more about us from our Web site at:
Adoption Policy
To adopt from us, we require:
- Applicants be over 18 years of age
- Have a valid government issues ID with current address
- Have consent from full house hold to bring an animal into the home
We also may ask for home visits before approving adoptions for all our dogs, and some of our special needs cats. Denial of a home visit when requested will shut down the adoption application process.
