Meet MALONE
Mr. Malone came to Longmeadow in the early spring of 2021. He was severely underweight and lacked confidence and trust. Through his time at Longmeadow, Malone has gained weight and blossomed into a much more confident gentleman. He has become one of the first to greet you in the pasture and accept all the cookies and cuddles you could possibly give him! And a fun fact: Malone was genetically tested and we found that his breed is a combination of Selle Francais, Missouri Fox Trotter, and Mountain Pleasure Horse! How neat! Malone was started lightly under saddle at the ranch but had major setbacks that caused him to throw his rider. Our trainer and her team worked with him for a few months afterwards to try and help him move on and recover, but it became evident that he needed time for his mind to reset before they could get positive results. After some time off out in pasture, our trainers restarted Malone on ground work and found that he had retained everything he had been working on previously under saddle. He's now been ridden a few times at the walk and is doing really well. He's still the same sweet boy and this time he is consistently checking in with his trainer when he seems unsure of something. Malone still has a long way to go but the restart has helped this gelding's mind and he has already come so far! Malone has a sweet temperament and is very personable so personable, in fact, that he occasionally needs to be reminded of boundaries! He loves attention and will do anything to get attention, whether thats putting his head on your shoulder or playing with your jacket. He is intelligent and learns quickly. He ground drives like a pro and ponies well next to other horses. Malone will need a professional trainers help overcoming his setbacks before being adopted by an advanced rider. Adoption Fee: $900 Height: 14.3hh Maximum Carrying Weight (includes tack and rider): 185lbs
