Pepper Happy Tails Dog Adoption Story May 2020
Sue & Pepper Adopted May 2020Poodle
Our lab baby died in March at the age of 11. I was feeling so lost. A friend suggested that I try fostering. It just so happened that the shelter was looking for people to foster. Pepper came here via a transport from Houston Texas. He was living in awful condition when rescued. He is an eight year old toy poodle mix who is blind. Within a few days I knew he would not be leaving. So I only fostered for a few weeks and then I failed! He is so much fun and brings so much laughter to my life. Yes he is able to get around and his blindness does not seem to be a problem to him. He was rescued with his friend, brownie, who could not make the trip as he was heartworm positive. But brownie will be able to travel and in fact will be coming to Wisconsin July 12 at which time I will be adopting him too. I’m told that Brownie was very protective of Pepper. I’m so happy to be able to do this. Fostering was such a positive experience. Many thanks to Jacinto city shelter (Texas) and Lola’s Lucky Day transport.
