Meet Zelda
Let me tell you a little bit about Zelda. We always called her the little girl because even at 68 pounds, she was still smaller than her sister. Her smaller stature doesn’t prevent her from having a big personality. She can be a little shy when she first meets people but tends to warm up after just a few moments with them. The DNA test said she is majority Weimeriner with a little bit of Australian Shepherd and 2% black lab. However, she has all of the energy of the Weim. She enjoys playing with other dogs. She’s not great at fetch, but she puts in a valiant effort. She’s good with kids, but does not like her ears being pulled on, but I don’t think that’s just her lol. She loves to go on a run. I’ve taken her a few times, but unfortunately my running is not what it used to be. The first time I took her out for a run she immediately lined up next to me and ran without any side training. She is an incredibly sweet dog. She loves playing in water although she cannot swim well. But she loves a good puddle or baby pool.
She is crate trained, and when we leave the house, we always put her in a crate however, I don’t know that she necessarily needed it. Her sister is the destructive one, but I could not leave one out and crate one.
She is up-to-date on all of her vaccines and I have been told she is a healthy weight from the vet. She would do best in a home as an only dog or with a bigger male dog. She tends to follow the little dogs around too much and I think she has a higher prey drive so small dogs are probably not for her. She has a weird little bump on the side of her body. I got it biopsied and it’s just a weird little bump. She goes once a month to be groomed as the short fur gets dirty quickly. She is good at the groomers and they all like her tremendously.
