Winston is an active young dog looking for his forever home! He has lived with other dogs but we are not sure about children or feline friends. Winston will enjoy a home with lots of daily activities and some structured training.

Winston recently went on a Wandering Rover outing and his partner said: "I took him out last week as part of the Wandering Rover Program and he was so much fun. Winston is a great walker on a leash and loves to play with toys!! He will make a great addition to your family."

Another Rover took him and said: Winston wanted to be in the front seat of our car. One of us had to sit in the back seat with him to keep him there. He was better on the return trip. He stayed in the back seat by himself. He walked well but does pull. When he was taken for another walk just prior to returning to the shelter the pulling decreased quite a bit. He is very interested in people and often tried to move towards them. He did not bark or act aggressively towards other dogs. He played great in our backyard and in our house. After chasing a ball he would return it and drop it at our feet. Overall a great dog and well behaved for his age.

Another Rover said: We took Winston to Bridges pet store where he was a very good boy, curious of all the smells. He got to pick out a toy and a treat. Afterwards we went for a long walk at Brightwater treatment plant. He is a great dog. Full of energy, engaging, silly goofy and super friendly. Winston would benefit greatly from training. He is so eager to please and learn. A couple of times noises seem to scare him but nothing out of the normal. Great dog!

Wandering Rover reported: We took Winston for a nice long walk out at Pilchuck Tree Farm, then home for some play time and relaxing in front of the fire. He was very excited to be out and about, and did lots of rooting around and zoomies in the snow! Though he pulled a little on the leash initially, once he burned up some energy and got over the initial excitement of being out and about walked remarkably well, constantly checking in to make sure everyone was keeping up! He rode in the back of the car okay on the way out, was very well behaved on the way back - but when he got to ride up front, he was very pleased with himself! At home he played fetch with a tennis ball, returning it after each throw, before curling up on the couch with his head in my lap, peaceful as could be. Winston is a smart, loving little guy, and will be a genuinely faithful companion for whoever is lucky enough to adopt him.

Another Rover said: We took Winston for a long car ride to play in the snow and then came back and walked on the waterfront. He had a great time in the car and really enjoyed playing with toys the back seat, especially a squeaky ball. While we were walking we saw a few dogs playing fetch with their owners and he was very interested, it seems like he would love a big area to run around in. His leash skills are good overall, he pulls a bit if he gets distracted but can be easily redirected. He can be very affectionate and was eager to get in my lap. Winston is such a fun and happy dog, he will make a great addition to someone's family!
