Meet Winston
6yr old Greyhound mix
Winston is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met. He gets along with all dogs and people. He is gentle and would never hurt a fly. I believe Winston would do fine in any sort of home. He would do fine with multiple pets, including dog savvy cats. If he had a dog sibling, it would need to be one who isn't going to bully him as he is very passive and never wants confrontation.
As Winston gets older, his long legs are sore and he sometimes is slow with getting up.
Winston does not like rain or any thunderstorm/rain sounds. If it is raining, he will shake. Especially during storms. He will not want to go outside and if he goes, he will shake and hide. He probably wouldn't like fireworks either. He is a gentle boy who needs a gentle family too.
When he gets frustrated or bored, he will chew at his legs and sometimes requires a cone when not supervised. He is fully crate trained and a gentleman in a cone. We have always used a soft one to be more comfortable.
Winston is a chewer and he will sometimes ingest things he chews so he needs to be closely monitored around textiles. He loves Kong wobbler toys, and if it is strong he can play with it without worry. Also, the black power chewer Kong's.
Winston is very food motivated. Great on a leash. The perfect gentleman for his bath and nails. I cannot say a single bad thing about Winston. He is the perfect boy.
We will miss Winston's sweet howls and how much fun he has running around our large open yard.
Whoever ends up with Winston will have the sweetest, most loyal companion.
The adoption fee is $600 and includes spay/neuter (dogs over 6 months), vaccines, heartworm test (dogs over 6 months), deworming, Flea and tick prevention and microchip. Please visit www.paws-united.com to fill out an application.
**For puppies under 6 months a $200 spay/neuter rebate will be given with proof of spay/neuter certificate signed by a vet, if they have not been done prior to adoption.**
**Please note we DO NOT adopt our dogs as outdoor/farm dogs. These dogs are coming to us as stray, roaming or dogs that have lived a life tied to a chain. Our goal is to bring them in the house off the chain and give them a pampered indoor dogs lifestyle. Unless otherwise stated we will not even consider a home that has intentions of leaving our dogs outdoors or tied to a chain**
***We do require every applicant to provide a vet reference and we do follow up with your vet. If you do not currently have a vet as you have no pets, we strongly encourage you to do your research and contact vets to make sure they are accepting new patients. You must have a vet in place before bringing a new dog home. You will be required to give your vet permission to release information to us, we also require two personal references as well that will be contacted. We have policy and procedure in place while screening homes. If a family refuses any step in the process they will not qualify for adoption. We are not currently doing adoptions across the boarder.***
