Hey! I’m Winston, and I’m excited to find my forever home! I’m a 2 year old boy who will make you laugh with my silliness, and just look at my ears! Am I melting your heart yet?
My foster home says I’m an amazing boy and a total sweetheart who just wants to be with my humans and love them back. I absolutely love to play fetch with my tennis balls and will even catch them in mid-air! I like to suckle my softer toys which lulls me to sleep with the toy still in my mouth. I love to sleep under the covers, so my perfect home would let me sleep in bed or on the couch with my person. I’ll curl up behind your legs or on your chest when I feel safe and loved. My foster mom made a song to sing to me, and I just love it. I’ll even paw her to keep singing!
I love to go on walks and will even get you running! I love to get my good boy treats after going out on walks or even just going in the yard to potty. I’m also fully house trained! A secure, fenced-in yard is a must for me, as I love to explore and have a keen eye for wildlife. I’m also a tall boy and can jump high, so an environment where I may not encounter critters would be best. I haven’t met a squirrel I didn’t wanna chase! My forever home will need to continue working on my leash manners and not to lunge when I see animals. I have lots of energy and I love to run!
I’m super-duper smart and love learning new tricks. I understand sit, stay, walk and run. I even learned to give paw in foster care and I’m also starting to learn lay down and roll over. I love a good belly rub! My ideal home would be with adults who can shower me with the love and attention I crave! While I may do well with older, respectful children, introductions should be gradual to ensure I feel safe and secure. I would thrive as the only dog or with a less dominant furry sibling who understands my play style. I’m 27 lbs, so I’m a big boy and like to play rough! I’m also a healthy pup with no known medical issues.
In foster care, I’ve shown remarkable progress in overcoming my initial anxieties. I spent almost a month in a shelter, so my forever home will require patience and understanding while I learn to trust again, as well continue working on my expression of dislike toward gates and crates. It’s very important I feel safe with my people. While I may take time to warm up to strangers, my loyalty knows no bounds once I form a bond with you!
