This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally.

Meet Winnie - a 4.5 month old, Whippet mix, who weighs 20 pounds (as of 9/11/24). Winnie was found as a stray on a country back road, where we are guessing she had been dumped with her littermates. Winnie was found living in a culver and she was alone and scared. She was nervous at first but we earned her trust and were successfully able to rescue her and bring her into our care! Winnie is happy and healthy and ready to find her forever family!

Her foster shares: "Winnie is SO sweet! She loves to play and can be very chatty. She loves being around humans and will follow you around wherever you go. She does great with other pups and would love to have a resident doggy sibling so she can continue to build her confidence! She is still young so she will need a loving family who is committed to her training. This girl has such a gentle soul and she can't wait to meet her forever family!"

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
