Meet Wilson

Cute? Check. Smart? Check. Snuggly? Check. Meet Wilson - 14 weeks and almost 15 pounds of sassy, keep-you-on-your-toes Labrador! Wilson came to Brookline six weeks ago as a special needs pup (he has a rostral cleft palate which requires surgical correction at approx. 20 weeks) and since that time, he's grown and learned so much. Wilson is crate trained, 99% housebroken, and loves to be with people and friendly, gentle dogs. He's still a bit small for his age, but is healthy and ready for his forever home. It's expected he will grow and mature to "normal" Lab size (approx. 65-80 pounds). He currently eats kibble and drinks water from a crate-mounted bottle; he cannot consume soft or "squishy" foods (as he can aspirate them and risk developing an upper respiratory infection).

Wilson is UTD on his vaccines and preventatives, and aside from needing vigilant supervision (to prevent him from chewing on or eating items that can further damage his palate or cause aspiration) is a completely normal (and naughty--in the best way) puppy. He's playful, resilient, tenacious, affectionate, persistent, and simply... Labradorable!

Wilson's ideal adopters will have Lab puppy experience, loads of patience, and ample time to devote to continue his training and pre-and post-operative care, and will be home more often than not. Wilson isn't presently ever left alone without canine company; he can be crated for up to 4 hours, max, and prefers to have someone home with him.

NB: Wilson needs surgery to correct his cleft palate at approximately 20 weeks of age; this surgery will take place in southern Delaware Co, PA-- adopters must be willing to bring Wilson there for his surgery and follow up visits, and comply with post-operative care instructions and restrictions re. chewing, diet, etc. as established by his veterinarian(s).
