Meet Willy
Meet Willy! He is a 9-month-old Lab mix who has had a rough start in life. He came to us from a hoarding case, where he received little training, socialization, or structure. As a result, he is very shy and fearful of new people, especially men. Willy needs someone who is patient and willing to give him a chance. Once he warms up to you, he is the sweetest dog-he loves giving kisses and hugs.
Willy gets along well with other dogs, though he is still learning how to play appropriately. He can sometimes be a little rough with his brother. He would thrive in a home with other dogs who can help show him the ropes and teach him that life isn't as scary as it once seemed. Willy requires a person who is ready to dedicate significant time and patience as he adjusts to life outside the shelter.
He walks fairly well on a leash, though, due to his nervousness about new things, he often checks in with you to make sure you're not going too far. While he gets a little anxious in the car, he absolutely loves fries and chicken nuggets!
