Meet Whiskee - ADOPTED!!!
***** WHISKEE HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!
WHISKEE is a playful 3 year old blue merle Sheltie boy who, ONCE HE TRUSTS SOMEONE, has a friend for life.
He is a homebody and prefers to play in his own yard than go on walks as he has not been used to walking in his original home. His foster parent is currently taking him for short walks and he is happier walking on wooded park trails than city streets.
Whiskee needs a peaceful and quiet home as he hates loud voices and people yelling. He likes everyone to live harmoniously!
He is a funny little clown who loves to play and give puppy kisses to his trusted people. He gets so excited and happy when a trusted friend comes to visit him. On the other side of the coin, he is reactive to strangers coming into his home and he needs to be properly introduced so as to quell his fear of strangers harming him.
Whiskee is a resource guarder (food and treats) but has made steady progress with his foster mom through positive reinforcement. A knowledgeable home who will continue this work is necessary.
A calm and quiet dog would be fine with Whiskee or a home without a dog would also work.
**********
If you have a securely fenced yard and are interested in adopting WHISKEE or any of our dogs, the first step is to complete an Adoption Application at www.sosr.ca/apply-to-adopt so that we can determine whether you are a good match for one of the dogs. If we have a possible match, you would then have a telephone interview, speak to the foster mom, have home visit by one of our volunteers and vet reference check. Once you have been approved for adoption you can then meet the dog at his foster home. At that time, if you would like to have him as a new family member, you would complete the adoption paperwork and take him home. When new dogs come into rescue, they will first be posted on our Facebook page and then our Petfinder page when ready for adoption. sheltierescuesos.petfinder.com
