Meet Violet
They say roses are red and violets are blue, but I’m no longer blue since I was rescued by Midwest BREW! In my old life, I was bred way too many times than is good for a gal, but those days are behind me now, and I’m ready to find my forever family!
I’m about 6 years old, so I’m in the prime of life. Foster mom has commented that I’m very affectionate and that my tail never stops wagging. I am definitely a chow hound (show me a beagle who isn’t!), so I could stand to lose a few pounds. But I enjoy being outside and going for walks, so it shouldn’t be long before I’m back to a nice weight. A home with a yard when I could get some exercise would be ideal (along with regular walks). I’m a pretty quiet dog, so living in an apartment or condo could work, too, if I have plenty of walks.
I do have to tell you that crates really aren’t my thing – I spent most of my life caged up, so I’ve had more than enough of that! I figured out that I can use the doggy door when I have to go potty, but I still have accidents sometimes because I’m still learning. When it’s time for bed, I happily sleep in a dog bed or on a couch without a peep.
I get along with other dogs, but sometimes I can get really excited when I’m around them. When that happens, I just need to take a break from the action and relax a little. Riding in the car is okay, but I do get a bit nervous at times.
Foster mom thinks I’d be good with older kids - I might get overly excited around little ones and jump up on them, especially if they have food that I’d like them to share with me!
I’m just a happy, friendly girl looking for an affectionate family who will give me a fresh start and the loving home I’ve been waiting for all of my life.
NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
