Meet Vincent
Vivacious Vincent is looking for his forever family, and wants his new people to know these 10 things about him:
1) I am about 4.5 years old. If I had to guess, I’d say that I was a mix of a Dane and a Corso, but I can’t be sure.
2) Before I came to rescue, I lived in a horrible situation. My previous owners were backyard breeders that kept me and 20 other dogs in squalor. The other dogs used to pick on me, and by the time animal control finally picked us up, I was covered in deep wounds that were badly infected and I was very sick. Thankfully, I got immediate medical care at the shelter and was able to head to The Bullpen as soon as they had space!
3) Despite my previous experiences, I am a wonderful and loving dog that wants to engage with humans and other dogs.
4) I think I would do well in a home with children over 10, as long as they weren’t too loud or rambunctious and had some previous experience/training with big dogs.
5) While I was recovering at the shelter, they let me stay with a foster family that had both dogs (that I liked) and cats (which I ignored). Since coming to the sanctuary, I’ve become friends with another resident named Nala, and we are currently co-habitating.
6) Even though I haven’t had the opportunity to interact with small or medium sized canines while I’ve been at The Bullpen, I feel fairly confident I could live in a home with a dog over 30lbs, as long as we had a slow and proper introduction.
7) The words that best describe me are sweet, affectionate, and low-key.
8) My favorite things to do are exploring the yard, getting treats, and hanging out with my pal Nala.
9) I am still adjusting to “civilized” life. For most of my existence, I lived outdoors in absolute filth and nobody bothered to teach me anything, so things like housebreaking, being in a crate, walking on a leash, and basic obedience are all relatively new experiences for me. Thankfully I am a fast learner and I am eager to please, so as long as my forever family can be patient and understanding, I should master these skills in no time.
10) I am fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, neutered, and microchipped.
Ready to give Vincent the forever home of his dreams? Fill out our Adoption Application, located at The Bullpen Way Station & Sanctuary under the 'work with us' tab.
We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation.
Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-served basis, but rather we strive for a "perfect placement" so we know that they will not be failed again.
