Meet Vera, a sweet soul who's looking to find her new family! This bright-eyed beauty was discovered in Knox, NY, and while we don't know her full story, we know she's ready to write her next chapter with a special someone.

Vera is a true people-pleaser with an impressive set of skills already under her collar. She walks beautifully on leash, knows her recall commands like a champ, and is a perfect passenger during car rides. She's incredibly smart so smart, in fact, that we had to upgrade her crate security after she figured out how to open it herself!

This lovable girl thinks she's a lap dog and doesn't quite understand that she might be a bit too big for it but that just adds to her charm! She's happiest when she has her favorite pacifier (either a ball or plush toy) nearby, and she's so gentle with her treasures that they stay perfectly intact in her crate.

As Vera has settled in at her foster she has shown some issues with separation anxiety. We are actively working through this with her but her forever home will likely have to continue this.

We often don't know the past experiences of our rescue animals, but Vera has exhibited some behaviors that indicate she can be fearful of men and may have had negative experiences in the past. For this reason we recommend a home where a woman would be the primary caretaker for Vera. She would also do best around older children or teenagers as she can get excited and jumpy at times.
