Meet Vegas!

Vegas is a 2.5-year-old German Shepherd with a heart full of love. He is looking for his forever home where he can spend time with his favorite thing—his people! Vegas is a sweet and affectionate dog who loves to make a connection with those around him. His beautiful brown eyes will melt your heart.

Living Situation: Vegas grew up in a busy household with six kids and two puppies. However, his previous family could no longer care for him, and he’s now with a foster who has seen firsthand what a special dog he is. Vegas is crate-trained and potty-trained with no accidents. While he loves his crate, he can also be left uncrated and behaves well without chewing or causing any damage.

Ideal Home: Vegas has lots of energy and is SUPER SMART. He would thrive in a home where he has plenty of opportunities for exercise and mental stimulation. He loves to play fetch and would enjoy having a "job" to keep him busy. To start, Vegas should be an only dog, to have time to settle in, learn his new environment and family. He would definitely benefit from further obedience training - alone and in group settings. At some point, he'd be good with other dogs of lower to similar level energies. He'll probably have some anxiety as he adjusts to his new living arrangements. He responds well to medication. Reports also indicate that he doesn’t do well with cats.

Training and Behavior: Vegas already knows how to sit and is learning to lay down. He walks well with a training collar but may bark or show some reactivity to things happening outside. With his intelligence and willingness to learn, he would do great with continued obedience training. He has no food aggression and loves to please his people. He has lived with other dogs, but is very high energy and easily annoys other dogs which can create "situations"

Medical Info: Vegas is up to date on vaccinations, neutered and is in general good health. He does have some anxiety and responds well to occasional medications for calming.

Personality and Interests: Vegas is a fun and playful dog who enjoys fetch and being around his family. He has a lot of energy but also knows how to relax when the time is right. His favorite thing is simply being with the people he loves, and he will bond deeply with his new family.
