Vanka Pit Bull Terrier Springfield, MO

I know that being a stray dog does not define my worth; it only reflects the journey that led me to the ones who will treasure me forever! I'm Vanka, a sweet 60 pound, almost 3-year-old Pit Bull mix lady who is on the hunt to find my people.

Here's my story: I was pregnant and living on my own in downtown Springfield. I was only two days away from giving birth to my ELEVEN puppies when a nice lady took me in and agreed to foster me and my babies until we find our forever homes. I took such good care of my babies after they were born, but now that they are weaned, I'm excited for them to go on their own adventures with new families and for me to find my happily ever after too. I am smart, quiet, and playful. I get along with other dogs, and respectful children. Dog-savvy cats are fine too, but if they run from me, I will think they want me to chase them, so I will! I am working on my house training, and almost have that down. I am pretty good on a leash, and I love to go on walks!

I would love to find an active family who will take me on adventures to dog-friendly places! My ideal home will have a privacy-fenced yard for me to run and play in, though I might be okay without a fence or even in an apartment if I get plenty of daily exercise and get to run off-leash in a secure area on a regular basis. It would be great to have another dog or a kid to play with, but I would be okay as an only dog as well.
