Meet Van Gogh
Van Gogh, a sweet seven-year-old, 70 lb. boxer mix, received his name not because he is an artist, but because he is a work of art. This handsome boy arrived at the shelter in pretty rough shape with an ear so damaged, from being used as a bait dog, that the humane decision was made to amputate (hence the given name). He took a private plane from NC to CT over the summer and is now ready to find his happily furever after!
This well-mannered gentleman is certainly a marvel to gaze upon, with his soft brown eyes and majestic brindle coat. He is a relaxed guy who enjoys nothing more than being by your side, getting all the belly rubs you have to offer, going for leisurely strolls around the neighborhood, or jumping in the car for a drive. Van Gogh is the sweetest, most down-to-earth dog you could ever meet – you cannot help but fall in love. His foster parents even say he's perfection!
Despite his age, he really loves to play and will zoomie around the yard. He can startle easily with fast movements and loud sounds so he needs someone that will help him feel safe. Upon first meeting, he tends to be nervous but will warm up with treats. He'd prefer to be the only pet as he's dog selective and not fond of cats. He is housetrained, knows “sit,” and walks exceptionally well on leash.
His ideal home would be a quiet one filled with never-ending toys, treats, lots of cuddles, and walks.
His adoption fee is $350 and Van Gogh is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered and heartworm negative. If you are interested in this precious pup, please complete the application at form.jotform.com/200883908893166. For questions, email info@happilyfureverafter.org.
