Tykie Chihuahua & Rat Terrier Mix St. Cloud, FL

Tykie's previous owners brought him home 9 months ago but their jobs were changing & they were unable to keep him forever. Tykie's dad said he was 2yrs old when they got him, so he's nearly 3, and he's believed to be chihuahua but may be a mix of rat terrier or other breeds. His first home apparently kept him confined to the garage for most of his early life or out in the yard. He was very skittish when the previous owners took him in. They said he's a friendly dog, even gets along with children, hes just shy with new people. He does show food possessiveness so we will not be considering homes with young children to adopt Tykie. He's crate trained & feels safe in his crate. He's potty trained but does mark inside sometimes so he wears male diapers. We're hoping the neuter can help correct this behavior, but only time will tell whether or not he will require continued use of belly bands.

We took Tykie for an annual update & hes heartworm negative. The neuter clinic schedules further out so his adopting family should be prepared to bring him to that apt in Palm Bay sometime in June or July

We are currently open for meet & greets with this boy! Same day adoption is available. The adoption fee covers all of his medical care & a small donation to the rescue to help with expanding costs.
