Tye and Hudson, bonded father and son Chihuahua Rochester, NY

TYE and HUDSON were surrendered together by their owner who is no longer able to care for them due to health issues. They are a bonded pair and must be adopted together/ Tye is 5 years old and his father Hudson is 6-7. Tye is tiny at about 8 lbs and Hudson is even a bit smaller! They are extremely scared and will need a very patient adopter - at this point we're saying they'll need a fenced in yard as well, as there is no way they're getting leashes on - their previous home must have had a fenced yard. Tye the son is a little more friendly and outgoing but Hudson is totally terrified and won't even move or go to the bathroom outside unless Tye is out with him. However, Tye will ONLY eat his food when he and the food are on someone's lap. And you need to hand-feed the first few pieces lol. That's what the surrendering owner told us but we took it with a grain of salt at first. However, it's proving to be true! We can see that once they adjust to their life being turned upside down, they will settle in and be great companions for someone.

They both needed all vetting - they've gotten vaccines and exams, but both have terrible teeth and are on the schedule for full dentals. Also, both have heart murmurs. The neuters have not happened yet but they're on the schedule. If they happen to be adopted before that happening, it's included in the adoption fee.) We'll report back as their foster gets to know them better.

Adoption fee covers: all vetting to age (including deworming, flea & tick etc), spay/neuter and microchip after 6 months of age at our clinic, $60 rebate for completion of positive-based training classes, and lifetime support of rescue.

We do most application processing virtually and dog meets will be individually by appointment with ONLY APPROVED APPLICANTS. We are not a shelter and are completely volunteer foster-based, so there is no central place to come see all of the dogs available.

PLEASE NOTE: If a dog is listed as Adoptable, he or she is still available at that time. Also, our adoption area is within a several hour radius of us in Rochester, NY (NOT including Canada for puppies who haven’t yet gotten their rabies shot - sorry!)
