Meet Tubbs
Say hello to Tubbs, a super friendly mixed breed pup who we think is a blend of hound and maybe dachshund because he has a long'ish body. Tubbs is about a year old and weighs 17 lbs.
Tubbs is an incredibly sweet and loving dog. He aims to please and he attaches quickly to people and other dogs. He loves to snuggle and sleeps through the night in his foster family's bed with them and their resident dog. He is very playful and loves wrestling. He has energy, but does not require long walks or runs. He has an awkward gait, so not sure if he would be a good running buddy.
Tubbs has a brother he was with all of the time before coming to Second Chance and is used to having a buddy. He would probably acclimate fast in a home with another dog. This would also reduce any separation anxiety. Tubbs likes toys and bones, though he is just starting to understand toys and how to play with them.
He can be very nervous in new situations and hesitant about meeting new people at first. He is fine with young kids but he does get startled easily and that can be an issue. He did well with a bath, but was terrified at the vet when he went to get neutered so thankfully he doesn't have to go through that again. Generally, he's a great dog. We do recommend obedience training to help him to gain confidence and improve his manners.
He rarely barks and has great fun at dog park. He gets along well with other dogs with a proper introduction, but can be reactive on leash. He understands to go potty as soon as he's taken out, and is not a marker indoors.
Tubbs is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines. His adoption fee is $300.
