Meet Trooper - terrific tripod!
**Please read Trooper's entire profile, which includes a link to the adoption application at the end. Thank you!**
Trooper may only have three legs, but he stands tall with a big heart full of courage! This boy may have lost his leg, but he never lost his spirit.
Meet Trooper - a triumphant tripod, who is almost 6 months old! This guy is a Chocolate Lab mix, who weighs approximately 33 pounds (as of 11/21/24). He was born on 6/10/24. Trooper is a young pup who has a heartwarming personality and an inspiring story! Despite having a difficult past, he has emerged as one of the friendliest and sweetest pups around. Trooper recently faced a significant challenge when he had to undergo a leg amputation. However, his resilient spirit shines through as he bravely adapts to his new way of life. This resilient pup is not letting his amputation slow him down. He has already started playing and running with his doggy friends!
is affectionate nature and friendly energy make him an instant favorite with everyone he meets.
His foster shares: "Trooper has a very affectionate and friendly energy about him, which makes him an instant favorite with everyone he meets! He is still a young dog, and Trooper is in the process of adjusting to life indoors. His enthusiasm for learning is evident as he quickly picks up new habits and routines. The transition has been made easier by his love for cuddling on the couch, where he enjoys spending quality time with his human companions. He's great with kids, other pups, and cats, too! Trooper's social skills are second to none. He loves meeting new people and has never met a stranger. Whether it's during car rides or on a walk in the park, his friendly demeanor and wagging tail make him a joy to be around. Trooper's ability to connect with others is truly remarkable. With his charming personality and resilient spirit, Trooper is sure to bring joy and love into any home. We think this guy would do best with a resident doggy BFF in his forever home (or a family who doesn't mind sharing their bed). Trooper gets sad at night if he can't find his human or another dog. This might have to do to his history of abandonment - but he just wants to snuggle and feel secure. Trooper is more than just a pet .... he's a loyal friend and a source of inspiration for those fortunate enough to know him!"
All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.
Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted. To learn more about our *shelterless* rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website at WWW.GDRNE.COM.
