Meet Trixie
Meet Trixie!
This SMALL BREED champagne and cream fluffy terrier puppy is 4.5 months old and currently weighs 11 pounds.
Trxie’s mom weighs around 18 pounds and Trixie is expected to be close in size to to her momma. Trixie entered our rescue after being abandoned along with her mom and 2 others.
Trixie is a typical small breed puppy - Sassy, Silly, and SPUNKY. Due to past mistreatment, Trixie can be fearful at first. She opens up very quickly and is very sweet and loving and playful but will require a patient adopter to work through fear of new people and things. She can usually be found “investigating” all the things and reporting her findings back to her foster mom and foster siblings. She is joyful and sweet and perfect for someone who loves to laugh at puppy antics.
When she is done playing, she loves to tuck herself into a big fluffy dog bed and blanket to take a long nap. She is working hard on potty training in her foster home, but like all small breed puppies, she has a small bladder and currently is only able to go without potty breaks for 3-4 hours during the day and 5 overnight.
Her ideal home will have someone ready to continue a consistent routine/structure with house training and learning manners. Puppy training is a time consuming process that requires patience, and her perfect home will understand that she needs consistency, structure, and training and be able to put that time in while she is young.
Trixie’s current favorites include:
Playing with toys
Wresting/Running with her friends
Exploring outside/“stealing” leaves and sticks
Puppy Treats
Hugs and Snuggles
Belly Rubs
Naps
Trixie’s ideal forever home will have another playful dog or dogs and maybe even some dog savvy/older kids of her very own! She is good with other small dogs but is fearful of cats and should not be adopted to a home with cats. Trixie will not be adopted to a home without another accepting dog. Trixie’s perfect home would have older children only who can interact with her safely. With continued puppy training, this beautiful girl is going to make a great life-long companion.
Trixie deserves the best forever home and like always we are not first come first serve- we will want a mutual adoption decision from both the potential adopter and Trixie herself. We are always looking for the very best fit for both you AND the dog.
All dogs are spayed/neutered, current on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. The adoption fee is $225.
