Triscuit French Bulldog & Beagle Mix Greensboro, NC

Triscuit is a cute 5-year-old Beagle mix who loves to play fetch, walks well on a leash, knows “sit” and “come,” loves belly rubs, and is an affectionate boy! Look at that “Perma Grin” on his face! The Pet Profile Team has worked hard to get a picture with a different facial expression, but evidently, this is Triscuit’s “Resting Grin Face”! With the right “love connection,” Triscuit is going to make the right family VERY happy, and we are committed to making that happen for this sweet boy!

Triscuit is a wonderful dog and has been adopted twice. The first time, the husband doted over Triscuit, and being a dog that has never had “security,” he bonded very strongly to the man and became too protective over him. He “resource guarded” the husband and didn’t want the wife in the picture. Not knowing this is “resource guarding” and not knowing how to address and stop it became an issue that caused the family to return him. The next adopter was told about Triscuit’s resource-guarding behavior and strongly encouraged to enlist the help of a qualified trainer if they chose to adopt him, but they made some unfortunate choices due to a lack of knowledge. Triscuit bit the person and returned a second time. Although the bite was unfortunate, if the situation had been handled differently, it would have never happened.

Resource guarding is VERY common among rescues and can be managed and trained. When it is recognized and handled appropriately/immediately, it does not become an ongoing issue. We know in the right environment, Triscuit CAN be 100% successful and is more than capable of living a “normal” and happy life with his family!

We have secured a 7- day Board and Train with a professional trainer to help an adopter that falls in love with Triscuit and wants to make him a part of their family. In addition to this, the trainer will work with the adopter for a session to make sure they know how to work with Triscuit as he progresses. Additionally, Triscuit will come with a crate to aid in training and settling into a new home. Used properly, crates are comforting to dogs, and Triscuit is crate trained.
