Tootsie's story breaks our hearts. We had the pleasure of meeting this sweet girl when we were on Maui in August. She arrived at the humane society there on March 6th starving AND with 3 bullets in her head. Yes, you read that right. Some absolute monster of a human shot this angel in the head 3 times. Just devastating.

The amazing staff at Maui Humane nursed her back to health, but sadly she is now at risk because she is not doing well in the shelter environment. After all she’s been through, this cannot be how her story ends!

Tootsie is 3.5 years old, weighs 48lbs, and appears to be a Plott hound/terrier mix. She is reportedly housebroken and good with kids. She walks well on a leash and is very treat motivated. She can be dog selective, so she would do best as an only pup. She can also be a bit shy at first (who can blame her given what she’s been through?), so a patient, loving, committed home is a must for her.
