Meet Tommy
Hi, my name is Tommy! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:
-Personality: Active, affectionate, a little shy
-Can Live with Kids: Unknown history. He can be nervous with quick/unexpected movements and would do best in a home with older, respectful, dog-savvy kids who can read/respect his body language. At this time we're recommending kids 12+ pending an into at the shelter to ensure everyone gets along!
-Can Live with Cats: Unknown history, will need slow, supervised intro.
-Can Live with Dogs: We are still evaluating Tommy to see how he does with other dogs here at the shelter. Ask staff if you'd like to know more!
-Can do Apartment Living: Yes, with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. Be sure to think longterm about your living arrangements and check with management for any breed restrictions!
-Potty Trained: Appears to be!
-Bite History: No
-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: One private lesson
-Energy Level: Medium/high
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Neuter/microchip
-Additional Information: Tommy is a sweet, sensitive guy who came to us a stray. Unfortunately no one came looking for him so now he's ready to find a new forever family! Tommy seems like he could fit well in most homes, although he may prefer quieter/calmer environments rather than a bustling party house as he is a little shy. Tommy is very food motivated and will do anything for a treat! He already knows sit (and will happily show it off) and is eager to learn more tricks to add to his repertoire. He's sweet, snuggly, and will make an awesome lifelong BFF to someone! If it sounds like that could be you, submit an application to come in and meet him.
If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
