Toby Siberian Husky & Husky Mix Jefferson City, MO

Toby was found as an injured stray, a gorgeous husky picked up in a field with a fractured leg and taken to Riverside shelter where his future was bleak. So many dogs don't make it out and an injured one? Wow, that couldn't be this sweet boys story! Toby was there 5 weeks in a splint, his leg healing more and more incorrectly every day and nobody coming for him. Well we did! When we got him to MO, we had him seen by a vet and evaluated quickly for surgery. Surgery with plates would be about $6,500! With the long recovery and chance for the surgery failing due to Toby's activity level, we opted for amputation. Toby sailed through the surgery and recovery. He is a HAPPY boy, active despite the amputation and super sweet despite everything that has happened to him. He takes everything that has come his way in stride. He's a very adaptive and resilient dog. Toby is 2 years old. He is house trained. He is kennel trained - he would rather be with you so he does whine some but will settle down. He is fully vetted - has been neutered and has had all his shots. He is also microchipped. He is dog friendly. He has a high prey drive so we do not recommend any small furries for him. He is very loving and will develop a strong bond with his person. He loves to be near his human and is happy to be a lap dog! Come meet this awesome dog!
