Tillie Poodle Mix Verona, NJ

Calm and sweet Tillie came to us through a connection from the Amish. She was a mother who has aged out of their puppy mill, and is more than ready for a forever home.

Tillie's foster has been fostering for years, and says she is one of the most calm, relaxed, mellow pups she's fostered. Tillie is a follower, not a leader and feels more comfortable around other dogs than alone. They have helped Tillie to figure out how potty training works, and generally just how to be a pet dog. When they go for a walk, she doesn't pull on a leash (she's a follower) but is doing great and learning her way around the world.

Tillie is vaccinated, spayed, and crate-trained. She is only 27 lbs of curls and kisses, and she is great with strangers - she'll walk right up to them and is not afraid. Foster runs a small local shop and brings Tillie with her. Tillie comes out and greets the customers, gets her pets in and then sits calmly and relaxed in the shop waiting for the next guest. She wants to make friends and loves being around people. If company comes over, she will be right out there in the front wanting to be pet. Later you can count on her to have snuggles on the couch with you. Foster carries her upstairs (just because it is hardwood) and she sleeps on her bed in fosters' bedroom. She's not too fond of the car just yet as it is new, but will get more familiar once it is a routine. She does bark a little, but it's a quiet whispery bark that wouldn't affect neighbors.

Tillie doesn't need a lot of exercise, loves to be outside, but loves to come back and relax on the couch even more. Tillie will do best with another friendly low energy dog, and would be a great companion to a senior or lower energy household. Come meet her - you won't be sorry!!
