Meet Chief
Update: 2/7/2021
Thor, now Chief arrived on Saturday, the 5th, moved right into his foster home and is a shining star.
He has had no issues meeting the resident dogs and kinda likes to do his own thing. Which as of two days is get some solid deep sleep, stretched out where he wants to lay, in a warm home with loving people. He is living the good life now and hoping for a forever family to continue this dream for the rest of his life.
Chief will need a family who is home more than not with him. He showed some separation anxiety, but after a couple of weeks settled down. He would love a big fenced yard to run and lounge. He does well-meeting dogs but would be much happier not having dogs around who want to challenge him.
Older children (12 years plus) are a must as younger children running about, being chaotic is not something he is used to, and at his age, he shouldn't have to adapt.
Chief takes treats gently, walks nicely on a leash if your confident and he doesn't feel he needs to lead. LOVES being FREE in the yard to run. A home with a 6' fence and space for him to run would be heaven.
His foster Mom says, "Whoever adopts Chief is going to be one lucky family".
Chief needs an experienced large dog owner with patience to allow him to experience the world slowly. Chief lived his life confined to a crate and the kitchen of his home. He craves being free but also knowing he isn't going to be left alone locked up. The fact that he loves people so much despite his past shows what a good soul he truly is.
Chief's training is sponsored when conducted by one of our rescue-approved partner trainers.
