WEEKEND ADOPTION EVENT:
SATURDAY, SEPT. 28 from 12-3PM: Dog Adoption Event at OLATHE PETSMART at 119th & Strang Line with volunteers from Heart of America Humane Society. We’ll have several dogs there looking for homes!

THOMAS is a cute Pit Bull mix with beautiful brindle and merle markings. He is a year old and he weighs 50 lbs. He's full of joy and so much fun!
"Hi, I'm Thomas! I'm a smart cookie, I can sit on command and even have a few manners. I love getting treats after I show off! My playful nature shines when I'm around toys, especially squeaky ones! My days are filled with energy and excitement. I love playing with other dogs. They bring out the best in me, and we have so much fun together. I am good with kids too! We could run around together and be the best of friends.
I dream of a home with a fenced yard where I can run and play to my heart's content. Once I get in my playtime I calm down and I’m ready to relax! And yes, I am a lap dog! Adopt me and let's create a lifetime of wonderful memories together!"
ADOPTING A PET
We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend. We are also open Monday through Friday by appointment. Please contact us by phone at 913-321-1445 or by email at petadoptions@kckpd.org to schedule your appointment during weekdays.
If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match.
Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older).
