MEET FIONA (formerly Theta)!

Theta was adopted in December of 2024 after spending almost 1 year in rescue. Unfortunately due to life changes, Theta (now Fiona) is in need of a new forever home.

This sweet, loving girl is a 1.5-year-old mix of Rottweiler and Cattle Dog (we believe). Weighing in at about 60 +/- lbs, Fiona is a friendly, eager-to-please pup who is treat-motivated and loves to be around people. She’s great with kids and other dogs (especially large dogs—she loves playing with her 100 lb Rottweiler/Doberman mix friend), but we are unsure about cats and smaller animals as we don't have those in our home.

Fiona has medium-length black and tan brindle fur, and though she’s tailless, her personality more than makes up for it! At least you won't need to worry about accidental knock overs with low items or kids! She’s crate trained and currently sleeps in a kennel, though she’d love a comfy bed to relax on next to her family. While Fiona is mostly potty trained, her past of being in a neglectful situation means she might have an accident if she doesn’t have a clear way outside, so consistency with potty breaks and positive reinforcement are key. She’s also a chewer, so having plenty of bones and chew toys available will help keep her happy and out of trouble!

Fiona was rescued from a van where she and other dogs were kept without proper food or water, so she’s had some learning to do. She used to gobble down everything (even non-food items), but she’s making great progress and eating at a slower pace now. With her past, Fiona can be a little skittish, especially with loud voices, so gentle handling and a calm approach will help her feel safe and loved.

She’s super smart and agile—so much so that she’s managed to escape our backyard! For her safety, she needs a secure, fenced-in yard or an enclosed area, and she’ll need an owner who is diligent about making sure she’s safely contained. With some agility training or obedience classes, she’ll thrive and have a blast! She's a smart girls and seems to catch on quick, she knows commands such as sit, stay, leave it/wait, go outside, and although renamed, seems to understand when called by name. Again, treats are the way to her heart and will learn quickly for a snackum!

Fiona can be an only dog or live in a home with other active dogs, as long as they’re medium or large. She’s also totally content with lounging on the couch and cuddling up next to you for hours—she loves affection and will do anything to get as close to you as possible!

Fiona is fixed and ready for her forever home. If you're looking for a loyal, sweet, loving, and playful companion, Fiona could be the perfect fit!
Theta is now spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.
