Meet Theo (Courtesy Listing)
Theo obeys the commands sit, stay, and down. He will sit and wait for his leash to be put on. He loves going for walks and walks nicely next to your side on a leash with occasional guidance and rewarding treats.
Theo tends to jump up when excited, but redirects quickly with a "down" and "sit" command. He is also trained to stay "out of the kitchen" when meals are being prepared. Being a youngster, Theo will chew shoes if they are left unattended. This is managed by redirecting him with toys or chew sticks.
Theo is good with both men, women and children. It is unknown and how he is with babies. He is shy around strangers until they pet him.
Theo is also good with both male and female dogs and small pets. He is taken to the dog park to play with our other dogs. How he is with cats, horses and livestock are unknown.
His owner's request for Theo is to have access to a fenced yard to run and play. Another canine companion would be a bonus.
This boy is sure to excel with dedicated training and rewards! Check out United Animal Friends Dog Training Program. Level One Training consists of three one-hour classes for $30. Register at: www.meetup.com/unitedanimalfriends/
Our adoption fee helps cover expenses (vaccinations, microchips, spay/neuter, food, housing) for the homeless pets we rescue. UAF does not adopt or ship outside the state of Arizona. To ensure the best fit, UAF conducts a home visit to meet other pets and verify a safe, secure yard.
If you have any questions or to adopt a dog an application must submitted. Filling out this form does not obligate you to adopt, but gives us the information needed to make sure the pet is suited to your home.
