Thea Mixed Breed Brainerd, MN

Thea came to the rescue with her sister Rena and her 3 pups. Not sure quite what she is a mix of, we are thinking a cattle dog mix, possibly. She came from Ponemah reservation with lots of cut porcupine quills in her face and mouth.
We got all her quills out, treated her for all the ticks on her (with a topical and preventive antibiotics), and gave her a desperate bath.
Thea has been tested for heartworm, tick borne diseases (however we will test her again in later September or October if she is still with us to know if she contracted Lyme disease, or if adopted before then, we will recommend for adopted to double check since the disease can take 3-6 months to manifest after being bitten.
Thea has been brought up - to - date with her vaccines, tested for Heartworm/Parvo/Giardia/Coccidia and was negative as well for them.
Thea is awaiting spay surgery as she just came out of heat, we hope to have her fixed between September and October, or she will go out with a spay contract.
Thea has been an adorable foster that has slowly been showing her playful side and is always happy to see her foster mom, loves her meal times, and going out to play. She has been doing surprisingly well with house training and we haven't had any accidents with the schedule. Thea gets along with dogs and cats, teenage children would probably be best for her to be around since she spooks easily to loud noises, she does better with calmer and quieter environments. She isn't aggressive and wouldn't hurt young children, her disposition just seems as though she wouldn't be as afraid with older children.
Thea is a smaller girl, of maybe 35-40#, making great for an apartment.
