Thanos Great Dane Salisbury, NC

Welcome Thanos, who comes to us from the Rowan County Animal Shelter as part of the many dogs and other animals confiscated from the recent animal cruelty case in Salisbury. Thanos is a 4-year-old, 149 lb., Great Dane. He will need to have part of his tail amputated due to injuries and ulceration. This will be scheduled in the coming weeks. Thanos would do best as the only dog or with larger dogs. Thanos does not care much for cats. He does not know his size and does not know basic commands. However, he is so wanting and needing of affirmation, love and wants to just rub all over you. He is somewhat food aggressive but that can be worked on. He has already come along way with his food aggression in just a few days. When you are starved and never fed it is understandable. While in the Shelter for the 3 weeks, he gained 30 lbs. He has already gained since coming into rescue also. Thanos has received 2 rounds of shots, rabies, is microchipped, is on a worming regimen due to hookworms and roundworms but is otherwise extremely healthy now with nowhere to go but up.
