Tex Chihuahua Mix Creston, IA

Meet Tex! He's a newbie to the rescue so we're still getting to know him, but so far, he's proving to be such a sweetheart! He's a bit shy upon meeting people but doesn't take long for him to come out of his shell! :)

Tex is approx. 2 yrs old, full of lovies and snuggles...if you're looking for a lapdog to keep you company, he's your guy! He seems to be adjusting just fine around his foster family's cats, he may chase them at times, but definitely won't hurt them. It took Tex a bit longer to get used to his foster family's canine companion, she's a boxer mix, so not sure if it was her size, energy or both, but he's doing much better around her now.

We haven't had Tex around any children yet, but due to his timidness upon meeting people we feel the young kiddos may be too much for him, school age kids would be alright, with proper introductions Tex pretty much likes anyone he meets. :) He's a friendly guy, just shy at first. He'll make a great companion if given the chance!

Tex is neutered, microchipped, current on his vaccinations and heart worm tested. He does have some skin issues which the vet said may be due to allergies since he didn't have fleas (thankfully); so, we have him on Benadryl at the moment at that appears to be helping...poor guy needs to get a bit more hair on his bod!
