Tella Dutch Shepherd & Bullmastiff Mix O Fallon, IL

Say hi to Tella, a two-year-old girl 75 pound brindle beauty who found her way into a high kill shelter with her pups. Her pups were all adopted but Tella was forgotten. She waited patiently, behaving perfectly in play groups and on field trips, hoping someone would save her too. Well, we did! The day she was scheduled to die is the day we prayed too for a way to save her and here is why....

"Tella and I went on a field trip to Shelby Farms Lake this past weekend. She was very hyper and excited when we first met, but after a quick pup cup and a stroll around Starbucks, she was happy to hang out at the back of my car and sniff the air as we made our way to the lake! We did one lap around the lake, and to my surprise, Tella was very easy to handle! You wouldn't imagine that with the strength she has! During the walk, Tella calmly passed ducks, geese, and other dogs, even when the dogs were barking at her. She was curious about runners and bikers but could be easily redirected with sit-and-treat. I jogged for some part of the lap, and she kept up a nice pace and did not attempt to pull, so she would be a great jogging/running partner. Despite her stoic face, Tella is a cuddle bug! She would enjoy hanging out with you on the couch as much as exploring the great outdoors." She is potty and crate trained, incredibly smart and very food motivated. She knows sit, down, roll over, five, stay, and will hold stay even when food is dropped now.
